My first concert of the 2002 tour was great!  It was the first concert of the tour with Barry Williams and the first concert I've seen with just Micky & Davy as The Monkees.  Even though Peter was missed, the show was just as good.  The guys had a ton of energy and looked like they were getting along well and having fun.  Barry Williams (Greg Brady of the Brady Bunch), Micky & Davy's special guest, was also very entertaining.  He started off with a medley of "I Can See Clearly," "Good Day Sunshine," & "Sunshine Day" then went into "Happy Together."  After these, he started his "signature song" the "Brady Bunch Theme" and jokingly sang a song about if he ever saw Danny Bonaduce again, he'd give him a black eye (after celebrity boxing match).  Then, he talked about his days as "Johnny Bravo" and brought out the old suit that he wore on the show and sang "Johnny's Back."  As his last song, he did a parody of Eminem's "Slim Shady," called the "Real Greg Brady," which even got band members Jerry Renino and Dave Alexander dancing.  After a 20 minute intermission, the band started into a medley of Monkee songs and Dave Alexander announced "Welcome to Monkee Mania!"  Micky & Davy ran down the isle onto the stage and started into "Last Train to Clarksville," with Micky playing guitar and wearing a headset microphone allowing him to roam around the stage freely.  After "Last Train," Micky said to Davy "What did you do to your hair?" because it was wet and slicked back.  So Davy said "I was in the shower because I thought the show started at 8:15 and I heard the intro music and didn't have time to doctor it up!"  Then, they went into other songs like "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You" and "a song by one our greatest songwriters... Mike Nesmith," which was "The Girl I Knew Somewhere."  As they did last year, Micky went crazy with his kettle drum after "Randy Scouse Git," and when Davy tried to calm him down, he said "Who the hell are you?!?" When Davy said who he was, Micky turned into a teenaged girl fan saying "Davy Jones? Oh my God, it's Davy Jones!!!"  Then, Davy took him to his "old friend," the drum set. Micky drummed wildly on "Mary, Mary" and then left the stage for Davy to sing "It's Nice To Be With You" after talking about girls kissing the TV in the 60s while "The Monkees" were on. He said he got third degree burns watching "I Dream of Jennie," because of the electric carpets in the 60s.  He made a joke that he and Micky went to California after the UK tour to visit Peter and Mike in the retired actors home. When Micky came back out, they stormed into "Circle Sky" and then had the band do a skit from "All in the Family."  Next, the band came to the front of the stage with Micky & Davy to perform "Papa Gene's Blues."  Then, Micky was talking about how he remembers having to sing the Monkees Theme in different languages and that he still remembered them to this day.  Davy dared him to sing it in Italian, Spanish, and a couple other languages, which Micky did.  When Davy sang "Girl" from his appearance on the "Brady Bunch" he said everybody thought he and Marcia Brady got married, moved to Ohio, and had six kids, but they really didn't.  Instead, he said they moved to Pennsylvania and didn't have any kids.  Then, he said he always thought the "Brady Bunch" was such a nice show until he read Barry Williams's book... He said "They were all at it!" and that "the next thing you know Barry Williams will be here!"  Then they charged into "No Time," Micky's solo song, "Since I Fell For You," "Valleri," "The Porpoise Song/Listen To The Band," & "Daydream Believer." As their encore, they played "Pleasant Valley Sunday," "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone," and "I'm A Believer."  It was good to see the guys still energized and having fun! They still know how to put on a good show!
